Rainmaker Conservation Project
Rainmaker is a tropical rainforest sanctuary on the Central Pacific side that is home to seventy percent of all species of flora and fauna found in Costa Rica. This tour begins with a River Walk along the Rio Seco’s edge. Hand rails and easy to follow footpaths along with sporadic observation platforms, allow you to observe waterfalls and capture photographically the rich biodiversity this unique site has to offer. Rainmaker is home to Morpho butterflies, a variety of birds, and the very colorful poison dart frogs. Depending on the time of the year visited, visitors are also sometimes afforded sightings of other unique vegetation and reptiles. At the end of the River Walk trail, a pristine waterfall pool will beckon you to enjoy a refreshing dip. Next, the tour continues up into the treetops of the forest. A suspended walkway and six observation platforms up in the canopy, permits the visitor an intimate bird’s eye view of all the flora and fauna of a rainforest. Spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, waterfalls and the forest culminate with an invitation for visitors to enjoy a Costa Rican lunch served in their typical rancho.
